There are a couple factors that could be involved. Here is some that we have found from experience.
First, of all make sure you have the correct information. The port number for encoding is different than the stream port. Refer to your streaming account email for this information (In Centova, under "quick links")
SHOUTcast v1
In order to connect when you are using SHOUTcast v1, AutoDJ has to be manually stopped. You can have all the information correct, but if AutoDJ is playing, you will NOT be able to connect.
Use SHOUcast legacy as the mode. You will use your username separated by a colon then your source password.
SHOUTcast v2
To go live, AutoDJ HAS to be running!
